The repair of asphalt should be done, when the problem is small. Asphalt damage grows exponentially if left unchecked. The strongest, fastest and longest–lasting repairs are done with polyurethane products.

The time to do your asphalt repair, is when you are dealing with cracked asphalt or minor potholes. Over time, asphalt becomes dry, cracked, and crumbly, it's just a fact of life. With early repair and maintenance, and the right asphalt repair products you will not have to deal with large repairs.

Polyurethane materials are the best asphalt repair products to restore asphalt damage. As asphalt ages and oxidizes, it becomes more gray. This chemical changes makes the asphalt more brittle, and subject to cracking. It is best to catch the cracks while they are still hairline cracks. If not caught in time, hairline cracks grow and increase turning into alligator cracking. This alligatoring can be stopped with the right asphalt crack repair.

Cracks can erode, allowing water into the sub–base, and weakening the foundation of the road, or driveway. More water enters the asphalt, and vehicles compress the damaged asphalt. As a result, mud will pump up through the cracks. This is the last stage of failure, as the asphalt breaks into small pieces and starts to crumble away, forming a pothole.

Repairing Cracks
Sealing smaller asphalt cracks can be done simply using Asphalt Welder for asphalt crack repair, available in a cartridge format. Make sure the crack is clean, and free of moisture. Use a broom or blower to clean out any loose materials. Open cartridge and squeeze Asphalt Welder directly into the crack. Use a scraper or straight–edge to smooth the material out. Wipe up any excess material, and sprinkle topping sand over the surface. Allow to dry for 30 minutes–– now the crack is filled and ready for use.

Asphalt Pothole Repair
To repair an asphalt pothole, use FloMix asphalt repair product. First ensure that the damaged area is clean and dry. Sweep or blow out cracks so there is no loose debris. If needed, use a torch to dry up any existing water. Place the aggregate provided in the FloMix package to fill in some of the asphalt pothole, without going above the damaged area. Using FloMix, carefully pour contents of bottle  into provided 5–gallon bucket then add special sand. Next, shake bottle thoroughly and pour into sand mixture. Mix with a paddle–mixer, using a drill.

When mixture is completely wet, pour FloMix onto asphalt pothole and use a trowel or lute to smooth material into cracks. When damaged area becomes sufficiently smooth, toss topping sand by hand over repaired area to create a uniform look and feel. The new asphalt repair can be ready for traffic in less than an hour.
