Wouldn't it be lovely to never have to worry about blemishes, discolorations, and dangerous moles? Not to mention the bumps and rashes only doctors could identify! While you may not be able to completely eliminate any chance of getting a pimple before the big dance, there are a few easy daily routines you can practice to make your skin healthier. Drum roll please...

7 Daily Habits for Better Skin Health

Cleanse – Cleansing the skin of dirt, oil and toxins with a quality facial cleanser allows the skin to repair itself. While dirt is not one of the causes of acne (it's true!), a good daily cleansing ritual clears away dead skin cells (which do cause acne) and makes your skin smoother and more attractive.

Vitamin C – Using a VitC serum in the morning protects the skin from environmental damage. Because it helps shield your skin from sun damage, free radicals, aging, and skin cancer, we regard it as the most important part of your skin care routine.

Water – There are countless benefits to fulfilling your daily dose of water each day, one of which is healthier skin. Drinking 6–8 glasses every day will help to hydrate the skin from the inside out.

Healthy Diet – Eating a diet rich in antioxidants (fruits and veggies) and lean protein (fish, nuts and seeds) produces plumper and radiant looking skin.

Retinol – Using a retinol serum in the evening helps to regenerate skin cells targeting fine lines and pigmentation. Applied to the face, the vitamin enlivens the tissue leaving the skin looking smoother.

Moisturize – Moisturizing your face and body daily helps protect and repair the skin. Choosing one with an appropriate hydrator for your skin type yields the best results.

Sunscreen – The beach isn't the only place the sun's harmful rays loom. Blocking the ultraviolets every day with a Zinc Oxide based SPF of 30 or higher protects the skin from sun damage, aging and skin cancer.

These tips are not exhaustive of the preventative measures you can take to protect your skin, but they offer an excellent start. The products mentioned above are available in numerous places, including our office. Try these easy steps and see for yourself the wonderful effects on your skin!
